The PRINTAR Study – Prosthetic Infection in Total Ankle Replacement
What is the PRINTAR Study?
The optimal treatment for infected total ankle replacement has yet to be established.
PRINTAR is a multicentre retrospective service evaluation of:
- sampling practice in total ankle replacement prosthetic joint infection and
- the organisms, sensitivity and resistance patterns of organisms seen in current total ankle replacement revision practice
What are the study objectives?
The study objectives are:
- To determine the most common pathogens in total ankle replacement prosthetic joint infections
- To determine sensitivity and resistance profiles of these pathogens
- To assess current sampling methodology during the revision surgery
- To assess variance in the management of PJI
- To assess clinical outcome recorded at 12 months
How to register your site?
Open the PRINTAR Google drive via this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LCN9HqcXx_a4ZTjlhaZlKA2tQWYr_BWD/view?usp=drive_link
Download these two documents:
- Information sharing agreement
- Redcap user registration form
Complete and return the documents to pod.southtees@nhs.net
You will receive a login for Redcap and can then enter information for eligible patients
Authorship:
Each site can nominate one PI and one data collector. Every site with at least one eligible patient (confirmed infection) and a complete data Redcap submission will be eligible for collaborative authorship in future publications of study results.
Any sites who review their patient records and do not have any infections will be acknowledged for their involvement in the study but will not be eligible for authorship.
