The first Scientific Committee newsletter can be seen here. This summarises the latest steps in promotion of high quality research in the society.
BOFAS Position on the Fractured Ankle Management Evaluation (FAME) study
While BOFAS supports and promotes high quality research in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, the council and membership of the Society have serious concerns about the design, methodology and potentially the safety of patients enrolled in the FAME study. Despite this the Society does not discourage individual foot and ankle specialists from enrolling and carefully monitoring their own patients in the study. the Society will engage closely with the trial team where it is appropriate to do so. The full BOFAS position statement on the FAME study can be seen on the BOFAS Statements and Publications page.
